Winter Events

The Kokannee Salmon Festival -October 1-2, 2011-Celebrate the annual fall migration of the land-locked Kokanee Salmon of Lake Tahoe at the Lake Tahoe Visitor Center at Taylor Creek.

 Village Oktoberfest at Squaw Valley -October 1 2011- Traditional Bavarian Music and Folk Dancers, Benefit Beer Garten, Brats & Kraut & games from 2 to 6pm.

Lake Tahoe Restaurant Week October 2-9, 2011 - A celebration of the scrumptious cuisine and culinary talent that has made the Lake Tahoe region the best mountain dining destination in the country.  Delight your palate with 3-course prix-fixe menus that incorporate organic, seasonal and local ingredients - all served up at Lake Tahoe's charming and historic eateries and bistros.

The Tevis Cup Horse Race- October 8, 2011- The Tevis Cup 100 Miles One Day Ride represents the ideals of a pioneering experience along historically significant trails that traverse the scenic wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Mountains from Squaw Valley to Auburn.

 SnowFest- March 2-11, 2012- 100 events throughout the North Lake Tahoe area including a torchlight parade, laser show and fireworks, parades, pancake breakfasts, concerts, bar parties, ski races, an ice-cream eating contest, a luau, Mardi Gras party, ice carving, a polar bear swim and much more.

Summer Events

Reno Rodeo- June 14-23, 2012-"Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West!"

4th of July in Lake Tahoe!!- Head to the Lake and see the largest synchronized
fireworks display west of the Mississippi.

Annual Art, Wine & Music Festival- July 2012- Squaw Valley's base village will burst with color, taste, and sound as fine artists, craft makers and classical guitar musicians from all over the region participate in this event.

 Wanderlust Music & Yoga Festival- July 2012- A combination music, yoga and wellness event.

Lake Tahoe Music Festival- July - August 2012- Combining diverse music with the beauty of the Sierra Nevada in a spectacular village setting, the Lake Tahoe Music Festival is an iconic Tahoe summer event you truly have to be there to feel.

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival- July - August 2012- Celebrating 39 seasons of Shakespeare under the stars.

Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance- August 2012- In 1972 a group of Tahoe Yacht Club members and friends got together to share their passion for wooden boats. From this modest beginning, the Lake Tahoe Concours d' Elegance has grown to play a significant role in the wooden boat community, as well as the Lake Tahoe maritime community. Since its induction in 1994 the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation has hosted the Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance focusing on the continuing growth of the show, the quality of boat exhibits, the highest of judging standards and practices, and most importantly sharing the passion of wooden boats between exhibitors and public.

Annual Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest.- August 2012-One of the most rockin' events of the summer. What could be better than good brew and good music in a beautiful mountain setting? Nothing!

Lake Tahoe Marathon - September 28-30, 2012- Always attracting crowds of runners and spectators. The route itself takes in much of the lake's scene shoreline, including Emerald Bay, and begins in Tahoe City, finally finishing at Pope Beach
